Every year I have the opportunity to make a few bonzai pots for a friend who is passionate about his bonzai trees. He usually orders the pots round about June,July to be ready in August when the trees need replanting.
The two pots were made of black stoneware clay. The finished product, after being fired to 1200 degrees celcius, has a beautiful, matt black finish. Both pots are partly glazed. The one pot has carving done to it as well as added decoration. On the other one, I added some texture by just adding some clay pieces to the sides. It was then glazed with two different glazes.
I am very excited to see what the trees will look like in these two pots.
